About the Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort Foundation and Kāʻanapali Ocean Resort Charitable Trust
Guided by the Board of Directors and an Advisory Committee comprised of local civic, political and philanthropic leaders, the mission is to communicate and demonstrate hoʻokipa (hospitality, especially to strangers) and mālama (to care for, serve, honor, protect) for our Maui ʻohana (family) by physically and financially supporting local community needs. By embracing lōkahi (unity, unanimity of agreement) and hoʻohanohano (honoring the dignity of others), KORF hopes to enhance the kalāhikiola (optimism, hope, promise) of Maui and its people.
The Trustees recognize that these cultural values are rooted in the indigenous people of the islands. Working closely with Hawaiian cultural practitioners, the trustees strive to build understanding, educating themselves and informing the work of the charitable trust. The Trustees are volunteers and serve without compensation.
